Optimisation of silage production.

In this research line we strive for sustainable, climate-friendly livestock farming. Methods for optimally cultivating and valorising forage crops, as well as the potential of innovative mixed crops as a protein source to replace imported soya, form the core themes of our research projects. Using a state-of-the-art micro-silo installation, silage conditions can be analysed on a laboratory scale and various silage parameters, including, for example, the susceptibility of silage to heating, can be determined.
