For the first time, a group of international sustainability coordinators has graduated from HOGENT, with students from Ecuador to Nigeria, Indonesia, Ukraine and Norway.
The English-language programme 'international sustainability coordinator', which was offered for the first time last semester, is a European and internationally oriented micro-credential certified with a UNITAR training certificate.
The programme totals 30 ECTS and is designed to prepare students for the role of sustainability coordinator within an organisation or the role of sustainability advisor or consultant. The students explored, through interactive learning methods, how to support organisations in the transition to sustainable practices, while developing key competences in leadership, strategy and innovation. They also built expertise in working with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and EU standards for sustainability reporting.
The micro-credential is a collaboration between HOGENT and CIFAL Flanders | UNITAR, recognised by a UNITAR training certificate for participants. UNITAR is the United Nations Institute for Training and Research.
