Sports programme (spring semester).

The Sports programme (spring semester) delivers active professionals. Professionals who are perfectly prepared for the future challenges of their profession.

This programme, with a multidisciplinary approach, chooses active practices over passive learning and enables you to build your own curriculum to a great extent.

This programme offers the following courses during the autumn semester for a total of 30 credits

You get some courses in orienteering. In may, you go camping on an camping in Belgium. During this 3-day trip, you will do orienteering, climbing techniques, taking an ice bath,… There is an practical exam orienteering and climbing at the end of the trip. You only need to pay your train ticket, we pay the trip.

During 8 weeks, you practice an hour a week swimming, gymnastics and volleybal. There is a practical and oral exam at the end of this course.

During 12 weeks, you follow practical lessons about methodology musically driven workouts such as (step) aerobics, strength & toning and high impact sessions. Indoor cycling methodology. Cueing and sense of rhythm. Practical exam: Students design a musically controlled group lesson and give it to an external audience. Both the lesson structure and teaching skills are graded.

Every week, you get or a practical lesson biking, or a theoretical lesson about the Sustainable Development Goals. You go on a one day trip by bike and do waterskiing, stand up paddling and/or kayak. The exam is the participation of the trip and an English paper about the SDG’s.

In February, you go camping on a military domain in Belgium. You will do orienteering during day and night, mountainbike, hiking,… This course is given by a instructor of the Belgian army. The exam is the participation and effort during this trip. You only need to pay your train ticket, we pay the trip.

Weekly practical lessons to prepare you for the exams in the Police School or the fire department.

At the end of March, you go skiing/snowboarding in Italy for one week with all the last-year students. The exam is a practical exam at the end of the week. This trip costs +/- 800 euro.

During 12 weeks, you practice sports from all over de world like padel, lacrosse, rugby, street basketball 3 on 3,… In little groups, you prepare one of those sports and teach it to the other students. This is the exam as well.

You teach physical education in kindergarten, primary school or secondary education. You can also teach in a sports club. You can teach in English. There is no exam, the given lessons = evaluation.
