The chemistry programme is a combination of theoretical courses, practicums, well-supervised projects and internships. After the first year, students can choose between the main subjects chemistry, biochemistry or environmental technology. HOGENT supports students by providing professional facilities and labs.

Biochemistry

The main subject Biochemistry emphasizes the chemistry of the living organism. The curriculum includes a specific theoretical and practical training to prepare students to assist in fundamental research projects, biosafety, routine analyses … Graduates are employed in the food industry, pharmaceutical companies, biotechnical companies or related institutes.

Chemistry

The main subject Chemistry offers a thorough training in working in different kinds of laboratories and focuses on the processes in the chemical industry. Graduates are employed in consultancy and in production control chambers of chemical companies, quality control laboratories, research laboratories …

Environmental Technology

The main subject Environmental Sciences emphasizes environmental-toxicological research, environmental civil service and environmental consultancy. Graduates are employed in public and private institutes where they have a controlling and advising role to prevent environmental pollution.
